The officer, Syed Ejaz Hussain Shah, was found in illegal substances, including crystal meth (commonly known as ice) and aphrodisiacs.  According to the Information Report (FIR) filed by Sub-Inspector Muhammad Afzal Nawaz, the police signalled Shah's car to stop at the Baghdadul Jadid police checkpoint. During the search, they discovered the illegal drugs in Shah's vehicle, possession leading to his arrest.  Further investigation, into the matter revealed that Shah's two mobile phones contained objectionable videos and pictures, featuring university officials and female students. The FIR alleged that the videos and pictures were explicit and involved individuals from various departments of IUB.

 Shah's arrest has raised concerns about drug activity within educational institutions. The police are actively working to eliminate drug peddlers and maintain a drug-free environment for students.

 Syed Ejaz Hussain Shah, (a retired army major), had been employed in IUB several years ago and held the position of Chief SecurityOfficer. However, the university has not responded to requests for comments regarding this incident.

 In a separate incident, the police also arrested two drug traffickers, including a woman, in Yazman and Head Rajkan. Muhammad Sarwar was found in possession of 1 kilogram and 500 grams of charas, along with 20 grams of crystal. Aqeela Zainab was caught with 300 grams of heroin. Additionally, the Saddar police of Bahawalpur arrested one Jabir alias Shaira and recovered 5.4 kilograms of charas from him. These suspects were allegedly involved in supplying narcotics to various educational institutions.
